Nice to see Jet2 flying into Chania from Leeds/Bradford next year.
Ok, the flight times are not as good as Ryanair but nearly £200 cheaper !
So there it is-----   bye bye Ryanair and thanks Jet2. Nice to see some competition.

Daniel, We spent a week there this year before going to Plakias and liked it very much, hence our decision next year June 2nd to 23rd !!
We intend going to the island of Gavdos for a couple of days as the ferry leaves from there.
Sougia is also good and an easy 30 min drive away. Think you will enjoy it too !!

We shall be staying in Paleochora 3rd to 10th June. Went for the day last year and liked it.
Then in Plakias until the 24th June

We went there a couple of weeks ago, there is a gated entrance ( like entering a castle ) but went through unchallenged and had a look around.

Never had any problems at Chania airport (Ryanair from Leeds/Bradford). 7am flight out and 13.30 return----Perfect !!
Good idea to stop in Souda at the INKA supermarket for provisions. On the return journey the war cemetry in Souda is worth a visit.
Car collection and drop off is easy with Autoway.

We' ve just recently come back. Nearly three lovely weeks in the area, love the place and can't wait for another three next June !!
We actually drove twice to Matala for the 60's Hippie Music Festival.  1.5 hrs drive from Plakias. Liked Red Beach too.
In the meantime it's 18days to Kos in September----- lucky us !

We first went to Greece ( Corfu ) in 1978 and bought 14 Original Sirtaki LP so we like listening to this type of Greek music. The sound of the Bazouki is fantastic !
There was lots of dancing in the Taverna round the petrol pumps and into the street EVERY night.
You were given a pad on the table, everything we had was written down and paid in Drachmas  about 2am. ( if we lasted that long ) Great times

We fly out on 6th June staying in Frangocastelo until 13th then Plakias until 23rd June.
Only met a couple of other forum members in Plakias, so yes , it would be good to have a get together one evening if others are on holiday at this time.

Just booked a car with Autoway, pick up / drop off from the airport. Good service, we used them last year.

It might be once you get there, The holiday itself will cost you a lot more if you book now. Olympic are milking the exchange rate this year with their prices. No January sale, and still showing over £700 per head from Leeds Bradford to Kostas in June

That's odd as I'm paying significantly less for both my Olympic holidays this year than last (one to Plakias, one to Tingaki). Knowing when to book to get good prices is becoming increasingly difficult with Olympic.

It is working out cheaper for us to book flight only with Ryanair from Leeds/Bradford and accomodation with the owners (or with Booking.com )
