PlakChat / Re: Souda now not nudist?
« on: September 11, 2017, 10:26:13 AM »
We've been coming to Plakias for a few years and have frequented Souda on many occasions
The 'bed man' is called Victor and we have got to know him quite well - he is a reasonable guy!
We were there at the end of June for two weeks and there were 'rumblings' from a number of people (mainly at weekends from Greek and Italians)
They had, apparently, had the local Police involved and we were being told that there may be a 'cover up'(!!) needed during August
I don't think Victor (or the guy who owns the beds) had any alternative
Could be wrong of course....

Back next year  - hopefully Souda will still be nudist. If not - it could be 'The Far End' and getting involved in a towel fight or two!!

Where to eat...or not! / Re: Kri Kri

It's, probably, the only restaurant that is busy on most, if not all, nights
Food is always good
The staff are always busy but are always on the ball
Occasional wait but, to us, not a problem
Garlic and cheese pizza is to die for
Back again in Sept (were there in July)

Plakias / Early May weather forecast
« on: May 02, 2014, 08:04:08 PM »
We'll be in Plakias next week and not to sure what the weather will be doing!
Web sites forecast ~20c, some cloud and a bit of rain to boot!
So
What's it feel like for those who've already landed?

Is it long johns and thermals or shorts and T's

Thanks

Thanks to the forum for flagging this up

Where to stay / Re: Good hotels?
« on: March 25, 2014, 07:21:48 PM »
It's back to The Lamon for us - been going there for last 3 years or so
Great location (across the road from the beach), comfortable rooms, pool, great owners and staff, good food and all at a reasonable price
Back there in June!

We've always stayed at The Lamon Hotel (B&B)
Situated in the centre & close to all bars / resaturants etc.
We've always booked 'a seaview room' - superb views
The daily rate includes breakfast and rooms cleaned daily. Staff are very friendly.
Rooms are 'basic' but comfortable and clean. (all have fridge but other, larger rooms, have cooking equipment)
We'll be there in a few days times - can't wait!
- just hope the wind has gone on holiday.....

PlakChat / Re: Have you booked your 2013 yet?
« on: November 19, 2012, 05:21:06 PM »
Hi
We booked 2 weeks (end June / July) a couple of months ago
Flights from Manchester on Easy Jet (ah well...) were ~£195. Now seeing them at ~£270.
- we'll have got a great deal or prices will start to come down.
Who knows

Staying, again, at The Lamon. It's not palatial, but the staff, magnificent sea view and the price (of course) make it ideal for us
We'll probably be going back early Sept

Can't wait.............

Hi
New to the site and only recently become a 'Plakias fan' (June last year and twice this year in June & Sept). I'm surprised that no one (may be wrong) has mentioned 'Kri Kri'.
We tried not to eat there every night but.....
The place was always full. Excellent food (try the garlic bread & cheese on pizza base - to die for). We eventually only ordered starters as there was just too much placed in front of you.
The staff were excellent
We did try Medusa (as recommended here) - OK but 'not for us'
We'll be back next year - already thinking of doing two trips  - we've got the  Plakias 'bug'
