Plakias / Re: Major building work underway at far end!!

We came back six weeks ago & were amazed at the speed of the building since we left in May. We believe that the ones nearest the road are going to be shops but not exactly sure.
Building at the back of Paligremnos is additional accommodation being built by a family member.

Overall things are day to day generally the same but with the mass of buildings it's not going to stay that way for long.
We have two more weeks so may update if there is anything to report.

We've been here since 1st August & it's been fabulous,  nice temperature & less wind than normal.
Very busy early in the month but quieter now after the Greek holidays.
Not much change bit of progress on the new development, zebra crossing's (which nobody respects) two way traffic past Ostraco towards harbour.
The new Health Centre is now manned daily around mid-day for approx. 3 hours, that's opposite Apollo hotel next to the council offices.
Most things are normal & great to see familiar faces returning to Plakias.

We will be here in September so will give an update then.

PS forgot to mention the shark visit which caused excitement , baby blue shark so no real danger.

We understand that a Health Centre is being set up in Plakias. Things are in place &  they are just waiting for the arrival of the Doctors.
It is in the building in the area of the old council offices which is opposite the Apollo which is further up from the 'Cozy back Yard'
If we get anymore information we will post it.

We travel independently but Elspeth is doing a very good job & looking after people.
Les could never be replaced as everyone is different & he was exceptional & is sadly missed but if Elpeth is here next year I think she will be her very best.

Having been here a few weeks now & witnessed the total disprespect for boats & swimmers , I am so disappointed that this is happening in our beautiful Plakias bay.
I know we have to move with the times & possibly this is an attraction for some but I do wish the owners of these jet ski's would set an example to their customers.
Yesterday there were several young Greek children having a fabulous swim at the end of the pier & a jet ski came so close to them, only missing them because there were other Greek kids on the pier shouting & waving to warn them.

If these 'things' have to stay then I hope the users can show more respect to swimmers that are enjoying their holidays.
