Holiday Companies / Leaving it late!

Hi Guys,

Still haven't booked yet for September (No early visit as we have just got back from Italy seeing the in-laws)

Didn't book before because of probation period in new job but now thats over and I am settled in I am itching to get it sorted.

I see nothing on First Choice, presumabley the flight is fully booked.

Looking to come out on the 6th of September for 2 weeks (can make the meal that way      )

Anyone got any ideas?

Ali expect an e-mail soon begging for accomodation help

Hi All

Looking at the calendar I see that the coming week has member birthdays on 5 of the days. Just wondering if there are any members out there who were born on the 8th or the 10th of October, if so fill them in and we have the lot.

After a lot of faffing about I now have my Plakias pictures online. I haven't bothered picking any so they are all there; the good, the so-so and the (lot of) crap!

If you have time to kill head over to Ploppy Pics

There are no captions yet but I may get around to it at some time.

If anyone wants a full-size original then please let me know.

Also if anyone spies themselves in a picture and doesn't want to appear just let me know and I will remove the offending piccy. (The page wont be published outside of this forum)

The techy bit....

All photos were take with my Canon Pro90IS digicam and are resized down from 1856x1392 to 640x480 for faster loading. Some have been retouched in PhotoShop to either adjust levels/curves manually or Auto Levels and Auto Contrast plus most have had some Un-sharp Mask applied.

The web album was created with an excellent free utility called JAlbum

Yes I had just downed my first Mythos before I saw John so the shakes had subsided!

Yes what with the new baggage reclaim at Heraklion it is much better. Also we didn't have to wait too long for tranfer to set off which made up for the delayed flight.

Coming back this morning was also quite good except the north-south transfer train jobby at Gatwick had only just started working again and there where large queues.

The flights themselves were pretty smooth and the valium did the trick, think its getting easier which is good as I dont want to deny myself another visit to Plakias.

All in all very good (Although I still hate that 4.20am flight back!)

Yes I can confirm that we survived the occasion, and a great time we had too. Made some lovely new friends, although there just wasn't enough time/opportunity to talk to everyone properly unfortunately.
Didn't quite manage 6am like John as I had to escort a rather wobbly Marge back home just gone 5  

I'm definately up for it next year, should be out there around about the same time.

Well I made it! The plane didn't suddenly plummet to earth and all the stress and worry was worth it.

It is really hot here and the meltemi has been on and off, really windy today which took an edge of the heat but blew sand into every place imaginable!

In Ostraco at the moment having a pre going home beer after two very late nights (mornings!). Get more sleep at home  

Looking forward to the meal on Friday and I can confirm that it will be Ali joining us.

Kali Nichta (?) Know how to say it but spelling?

I know that the statistics are on my side but thats why its called a phobia because it is irrational. Someone told me once that yes fear of flying is irrational but on the other hand fear of crashing is entirely rational.. not sure that helped!

Yes I don't enjoy the waiting and the crowds but my post landing euphoria usually lasts me through half of it. Upon landing you could beat me with a wet kipper and i'd still be happy!
