Not sure if any of you will but I worked in the Ostaco Bar for the summer in 1998. I was only 17 but have been going to Plakias since I was 14, unfortunatly I havent managed to get out there for a couple of years but will be going in oct, can't wait to see everyone! It is my mum and dad that have bought the ariadne, I hope you will try and go in and taste the food, even the full english breakfast!

and welcome to the forum, I'm afraid my memories of the Ostraco are some what mythos affected!
we had realised the ariadne had been taken over, but certainly i didn't know it was english people! I think they need to make sure people realise it's under new management as the old owners had run it down somewhat but i wish them/you the best of luck with it

Thank you I will let them know that, come to think of it I dont think i've ever eaten in there before! I'm sure you may know them, they usually go to Plakias May/June and again in Sept/Oct? My dad Sam is scottish and used to be quite a drinker, though now trying to make a success of the business he just has the odd raki! A little news for you Louisa (Sharron's dog) had puppies, a stray got her! one was still born, the second unfortunatly died and little Manolis has given the third to my mum!

hi louisa...i think i remember you, if i've got the right person i'm sure i've met your mum and dad too - am i right in thinking you also worked alot in the hexagon(finikas now)????i think i've got photos of you somewhere

Of course I remember you - I was always sure Sharron named her dog after you!
Sadly, I'll be home again before your trip - but I'm sure we will catch up soon - and by the way - I remember your mum too - will certainly be looking her up next visit!

OMG! I remember you louisa, from the hexagon and ostraco, although most likely you might not remember me!?
I spoke to you alot about working in plakias- you asked if I was going to stay that summer in '98 but unfortunatly I didn't. I ended coming back though and worked in the apollo bar and forum bar the following year! Wow, the ariadne eh? Fantastic! have fun!!

Hello john, no that is her niece who she named Louisa after, but i have attached a pic (not a very good one) of what i looked like then!
Fraoula, i'm sorry i struggle to remember but i'm sure if i saw you i may do!
I wish i had never come home, i did return at the start of the following season but i was pregnant and now i have two lovely kids! But many more visits to plakias to look forwad to! x x

I think i do remember you! Rowena, i remember the name coz of manolis! I have added a pic, but it is really bad quality as no scanner and took pic of pic! haha! Is that you in the red top with your mum and sister? Sorry you can't even really see the faces, but i'm sure you will know!

Hello I hope you had a lovely time? So how was my dad? I'm guessing my mum was here at the time as she came home for a wedding! I haven't had the chance, or money to get out there to see them yet, but am looking forward to when i do!

I look quite a bit different now! I was very sad to hear about manolis - I had just had my first son at the time so it was quite emotional, we used to stay with his brother george and his wife maria - I heard she'd got another recent addition to her family last year- a little girl this time! Great news. Do you know if Manolis mum, is still with us? The last time I saw her was at the graveside and i was suprised that she'd remebered me, she's a lovely lady.
Anyhow I would be grateful if, when you're next in Plakias, you could pass on my greetings to Sharon and Yianni, have they had any more children, Louisa?

Hi we had a great time as we do every time. Your Dad seemed fine & happy sounds like they've worked hard on the restaurant so I wish them lots of success. We are back at the end of september so might pop in for meal then.

I went back out twice the following year and went to live again in 2000 but i was already pregnant so i had to come home and decided to keep the baby, manolis seemed upset with me but we still talked! Lewis was born just before manolis died so emotional also! I think his mum is still around, i haven't been for a couple of years now coz of new arrival etc! Yes I remember when I was there you said you liked him! I as you probably know had a couple of holiday romances with him in 96/97! Quite a charmer with the ladies!LOL! oh dear the forums are knowing our past love life! He was though a lovely guy and,I think ,we had an argument or something in 98 cos we did not talk much-I was seeing an english lad, and manolis got a bit stroppy even though we weren't an item?( so I know what you mean!) But we became friends after I was in trouble one night in 99 ( a bloke was following me) he threatened the bloke then drove me back to my boyfriends place-who I'm still with by the way! He was the rep and we're still going strong seven years on!!! My other half was friends with him too so it affected us both with his passing. I'll join msn today ( my partner is on it so he'll show me how to get on there!) I would love to chat to you some more too, so why don't you email me your addy- I'll try and send you my email address to you now, in a personal message through the forum. R x
