  I'd be quite happy if Plakias dropped out of any top 100 lists altogether - the fewer people who are attracted to visit, the quieter it will stay.

Trouble is, for those like me who like to leave the organisation to someone else (i.e book with a tour operator), the choice is now quite limited. Plakias must have a really high percentage of clientele booking independently. Not like my other favourite Greek resorts.

True - if plakias has too low a profile there will be no tour operators offering it. We also prefer to book through a tour operator so I guess it's a case of finding a happy medium. My concern is that press publicity can snowball - all of a sudden a place can become 'this year's place to visit/invest'. I'm sure it won't happen with Plakias but I'd rather not take the chance

Hi Mike
When you see the logo 'VOTE' Top 100 Cretan Travel Sites anywhere on this site just hit it and follow the instructions.
Have a look around while your in there, there's some good information sites to view.
