I'm not a computer whizzkid - can you tell me how to update my profile? I've looked in "Help" and I've been into "Mt controls" but when I try and add and update my profile, I get the following message:

"You must complete the form fully before proceeding. Please go back and check the data you entered"

I don't have some of the info to complete the fields - does this mean my last visit to Plakias is doomed to remain in June 2003?!

 Thanks
-
I also have this problem    I would also like to add a little more info onto my profile.
 Somebody help us, please!!
-
				Probably one of two things:

 1. The form somehow has a hidden required field (unlikely)
 2. The upgrade to Invision Power Board v2.0.0 PF1 has caused problems. See this page (http://forums.invisionpower.com/lofiversion/index.php/t133882.html) for an example. If this is the case then we would need to upgrade to IPB v2.0.0 PF2 which I think has this fixed.

With Andy sadly AWOL I guess it is up to you John, unless you care to make me a board admin

Sorry I couldn't help further guys but for the meantime it looks like profiles are going to be stuck as they are

 Cheers,

 Paul

P.S Just noticed that this was mentioned a while back here (http://forums.plakias.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=323) right after the upgrade so I guess the new board software is the problem.

 John,

With Andy's future position vis-à-vis the Forum still to be established I think that it would be wise to have a caretaker administrator to handle the technical queries that are starting to come in.  Ploppy's kind offer, above, should be considered.

				Hi Ostraco,

Noopsy's got a good point there.  Ploppy would be a good choice if Andy isn't coming back.

Sorry for being so slow in replying these days - sometimes it's days before I can get to a PC, because of work. I'm off to Plakias again in a few weeks - and will be spending more time working away than at home!

With a great deal of frustration, I have to report that I have heard nothing from Andy, and have failed miserably in my attempts to track him down. Andy helped me get this off the ground, and I really miss his help - and of course, he was always around.

I took a couple of days for myself this weekend, and spent them on the beach - it was great to get some time to myself and do some thinking. I had decided, recognising that I'm in need of support, that I would have a chat with Ploppy when we meet up in Plakias, and sound him pout to see if he was interested in helping out.

I will PM Ploppy now, and arrange to have a chat with him - I know he knows his way around PCs far better than me, so I hope he's still happy to say yes!

 Watch this space!
-
Sorry to hear that there is still no word from Andy.

I would be more than happy to help out, I think this is a great little community we have going here and any way that I can put something back in sounds good to me.

John, I'll reply to your PM in a minute. I'm in the US for the next two weeks (been here four already, Marge is doing her nut!) so if anybody wants any cheap stuff let me know!

 Cheers,

 Paul

				[span style=\'font-size:21pt;line-height:100%\']Ploppy's now an Admin![/span]
We swopped a couple of PMs, and I'm glad to report Ploppy is now on board!
Hopefully, we'll be able to iron out a few of the glitches between us - and it sounds as if he knows more about how it works than I do already!
-
John - Ploppy, can't thank you both enough for your efforts. I help run a forum and know just what the score is, so this is very good news.

It is sad about Andy - I feel concerned about him and wonder if there might be more behind the scenes that just this chat forum. If he did happen to return I would like to say to welcome him back - all things being equal - but keep on board Ploppy whose heart is obviously in the right place etc. etc.

 Anyway Thanks to all concerned.

				Ploppy,

May I be the first to congratulate you.

 Noopsy

Damn.  John R's just beaten me to it!     So may I be the second person to congratulate you.
-
				Yes - congrats Paul.

-
Thankyou all for your kind support.

As I said before I am more than happy to help out. If anybody has any problems, questions etc please let me know. You can PM me from within the forum or e-mail me direct and I'll do my best to help you.

Yes I too would i like to see Andy return, if you read this Andy I hope you will reconsider coming back and I hope we can resolve any issues.

 Cheers,

 Paul

P.S Oooooh Big Red Button marked 'Delete All Posts'. Wonder what this does... click... oops

				Ploppy!
Behave yourself! Never had to ban an Admin before! ! ! ! !

Seriously, glad to see you here mate. First Mythos is on me in September.

And as for Andy, I do hope he looks in and sees how we miss him - Like many of you, I would welcome him back with open arms! One day, I would love to buy him a beer in Plakias too!

Off to bed now - had a great night out at the Theatre Royal in Plymouth and a couple of beers after.

 Eimai hypno.....
