Wow...that's a rarity ! I think one of the only recognisable buildings on the seafront is the Livicon ...so perhaps we can find out when this was built. It is certainly pre-Forum days (late 1980s). Given that the road around the headland doesn't seem to exist I'd suggest it is late 1960s /early 1970s when the village began to develop as the 'resort' we know today. Will be very interested in finding out.

http://The Livicon then was a popular backpackers cafe. The entrance to the rooms was makeshift bank and the only place that Access cards could be used.

Having a good think I have come to the conclusion that this must be 1976. Although I cannot see the original bakery so 1970 may be a better guess.

On a similar note...in 1987 I spent many happy evenings in a café called the Dolphin which was in a side lane somewhere (near the Drs surgery I think but am not sure) Anyone any idea if it is still there under another name ? I know the rooms we had have been incorporated in to new apartments but I've never managed to locate the Dolphin.

I remember the Dolphin! In my youth (when I was even more easily led) they would often persuade my wife and I to "just have another drink" before going home. I have never managed to locate where it was! Perhaps due to the effect of overindulgence (back then, not now)!

It was called the 'crazy Dolphin' run by a chap called Manoussos it was down the road at the side of 'Kyma' I spend many times in there as it was the first place we found on our first visit back in 1989.
It was converted into a carpet/ weaving shop then into two apartment's which it still is today. Manoussos, still to my knowledge, lives above there.

Thank you......It was the Crazy Dolphin. I remember now. They were good with cocktails ...their 'Brown Cow' was particularly lethal...as was my attempt at Greek dancing.

Is that the same Manoussos that now runs a taverna behind the Alianthos? If so, he is still liberal with the Raki!

Not sure......don't think I ever left the Crazy Dolphin sober enough to remember faces. Anyone out there able to help ? It would be really good if it is.....would love to go back and say thank you in September when we're next there.

Don't think it is, but could be wrong. Manoussos (of the taverna) is still very liberal with his raki!
