Just wondering if there are any new bars in Plakias this year, someone I spoke to thought there was?

The one someone told me was called the cosy backyard, but I'm not too sure it's in Plakias, can anyone confirm or not?

Yes it's in Plakias up the road towards the Apollo & opposite the Pharmacy.
Opens at 5pm everyday.

They're all within staggering distance of Costa Chrysoulas !....give or take the occasional beach and/or pool or a sudden desire to visit Sellia or Mirthios (even they can be within staggering distance - at least they were when I staggered down the hill a few years ago after a particularly enjoyable evening out !)...that's why we like the place. It's like an all inclusive resort with much...much...more choice and closer facilities.

No it was an unused building for a long time, may have been a shop before.
