Title: Gio ma Taverna
Post by: matthewbetts0115 on June 09, 2012, 09:22:26 PM
Went to Plakias during May 2012 with a group of ten people and found this restaurant on literally on the beech. We decided to eat here and was warmly welcomed by the manager and his staff. They managed to accommodate all of us without any problems. The selection of food and drinks were plentiful and presented well when served. The food was fabulous and well portioned and the end bill was very reasonable.
We went on to try other tavernas in Plakias but fell short on either service or food standards/portions Gioma had to offer. We had a further 3 meals during our week in Plakias.
Overall the area is a great location and will be considering returning again and again. This taverna will remain a great place to eat so won't hesitate to eat there in the future. Shame we don't have places like this in Nottingham!
Will try to load photos at a later time

Hi Matt

there's no doubt it's in a beautiful location but to my mind that sometimes makes it's own problems ie too busy

good to hear you had some great meals ther!

Having somehow overlooked Gio Ma for years we have made up for this over the last few holidays. Love the place!

We too have overlooked the Gio Ma and don't really know why.

Is it worth a visit ?

We always eat here at least twice every Holiday, try sharing the Lamb Chops and a Minoan Salad between you for your supper, well recommended.

It certainly is, in my opinion at least. Ideal location, good food and excellent service. We will likely spend some time there when we return to Plakias in May!
