Have many of you seen snakes when staying in Plakias. I have only ever seen the one. I wondering if any of you know where and when is the best time.

Hope your next trip to plakias is the best ever.

I've seen snakes on several occasions in Crete but none in Plakias. There is a good article here:

Thanks for that, I am almost sure that it was a Dice snake that we saw. It was on the road going out of the back of Plakias leading up to Myrthios.

It brought back good memories; just over 6 months before I experience them again. The video looks to have been taken in fairly high season, judged by the number of cars and the wind.

The taverna staff, seeing the situation, very quickly cleared both away.

That night's menu included snake and pygmy pie !!!

Ther was a large snake caught/ killed outside Kyma about 2006, it was posted on here..........Alex
