Title: Ligres Beach
Post by: George on January 02, 2010, 10:26:05 PM
Hi Y'all
I have a friend of mine who stayed at Ligres Beach a couple of years ago, and she insists that she went though a Gorge to get there!
She went through Spilli then obviously turned right into the Gorge and then down into Ligres, so she says and who am I to not believe her. She's a woman after all
I've driven to Ligres a couple of times and I've never encountered a Gorge and cannot find one on any map.
So does anyone else know of a gorge on the way to Ligres Beach, from just outside Spilli?

I just had a thought! I get them you know
You can get to Ligres if you take the road to Preveli and take a left at the beach, and follow the beach road. I've done that as well. It's a long way round but it can be done. Maybe she thought that road was a gorge!

I love the stuff. This bottle was from Morrison s,   Attica or something like that. a yellow label, It's £4.99 for a 70cl bottle here or the same stuff in Plakias was about £3.00 for a huge bottle last time I looked but couldn't find a way to get it home!
Still struggling for the Easter break we need to be in Gat  Wick for a 06:55 take off with sqeezy jet. Time will tell !

I used to drink it all the time with dinner when in Plakias and elsewhere by the jug full. I was asked to bring some back a few years ago, and it's still sitting in a fridge in Eastbourne. Maybe I'll nick it back, she won't drink it all, if any.

Why not stay over night in the Gatwick Manor hotel? They even taxi you to the airport in the morning. S*d the expense, you're on holiday!!

A bit pricey, £110 plus the taxi fare and my bar bill?  Might be better to get up early from Hinckley.

OK! Just trying to help you out here.
Maybe come down the day before, hire a van and get the ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe.
Get stocked up in the cheap supermarket with all the booze you can carry, then back to the Manor after picking up some fresh fish in Newhaven.
That's still got to be cheaper than your bar bill would be at the Manor Barny

Hi Barny

Sorry quick diversion, I was going to PM you but the info might be handy for someone else.

A couple of guys in my office have a meeting in Leicester tomorrow, so I thought I'd ask what the weathers like up there. Is it worth them making the effort?

Thanks Barny

George,
Leicester had some snow last night but as of this morning all the main roads were clear. Obviously the roads seen busier as everyone has slowed down but if you set out in good time there should not be any problems. The forecast for tonight is just cold and frosty (so far).
If it changes tonight I will let you know.

                             Barny.
