For the many friends of Babbis I have some bad news. His youngest son Kostas was involved in a collision
with a car while riding his motor cycle in Plakias. He was taken to hospital in Rethymno and later transferred to Heraklion.
There were rumours of neck and head injuries.
The accident happened about 18.00 hrs on Thursday and we left Plakias on Friday morning and were unable to find out any
further details of his condition.

Same thoughts - the recent bad news from Plakias has been a bit of a 'reality check'. Life can be hard, wherever you live.

There does seem to be a run of illnesses and accidents. I echo all the the previous comments and hope he recovers soon and with no lasting problems. Get well soon!

Great news - been monitoring this situation from our hols in the Canadian Rockies. We can relax even more now. Thanks Chris for your reports

This is very good news.
My better half and I were about 10-15 metres away when this happened right outside the Hotel Livikon as we were walking back from the beach.
I must say we did fear the worst at the time-as it was very harrowing.
We asked about a couple of days later and the consensus was he was "ok".
