Title: Car Hire Plakias

My wife and I are staying in Plakias from the 16th to 30th September. We wondered if any of you could point us in the right direction regarding a decent local car hire firm?

This is usually organised via our friends Brian and Kathy who live in Asomatos though rather than directly by ourselves. The cost is lower than anywhere else that they or I have found. The cars are reliable and can be delivered to your accomodation. They also do very good value transfers to the Airports as well. The manager is called Adonis

I've been using 'Just':

and I'am using them again this year.
I looked at car rental a lot, and can't find anyone to beat them!!

Service was good to and new cars!

I think I will use this firm and Thanks for the recommendation George! Do they have an office in Plakias or is it cheaper to book online before we go?

We're also using JustRentals (as we did last year). We booked by email and will pick up/drop off at the airport.

Picking up the car at the airport saves you from the bus transfer  
This more than makes up for the slightly increased cost you get when making a reservation per email.
And you only get (very slightly) cheaper rates if you compare prices in Heraklion (which implies an overnight stay in Heraklion).
So if you intend to rent a car for the whole duration of your holiday, email reservation and airport pickup is your best bet.

No office in Plakias unfortunately, I think they're based in Heraklion.
Still feel guilty about not using a Plakias based company, but at these prices, I had no choice.

Book online, the boss George (great name) speaks very good English and the quote he gives you is very comprehensive!!
