On behalf of friends who need someone to help them run a small family taverna with 4 rent rooms, I thought someone might be interested in being paid to spend the summer in an idyllic location!
The taverna is literally next to the water so don't apply if the sound of the sea bothers you!
It is on the south coast between Agia Galini and Plakias. Immediate start, until October.
Good conditions, reasonable pay, friendly Cretan/Australian family.
Live in position, all food and accommodation provided
To contact and find out more about the location go to http://www.agiafotini.net (http://www.agiafotini.net)

I'm sure whoever works there will have a summer to remember. Tempting also for a 'get away from it all' holiday. We drove round that area last year and it was lovely. I don't think our hired Toyota Aygo was quite so smitten with the roads though.

the taverna at Agia Fotini is fantastic, one of our favourite places to eat when we are at Ligres

Hi Dimitri
Believe it or not they haven't had any replies!
You know the place - the man you remember was sadly lost at sea and it is now run by his brother and his Aussie/Greek wife. I don't think much has changed, they know that all some people want is simplicity, peace and good food.
I'd love to see a photo of it in 1990 if you can find it

In the travel section of this morning's Guardian, there's a full page article about the taverna at Agia Fotini. It sounds as though it's a good place to stay if you want total seclusion: 'It is a good 30-minute drive, on unlit mountain roads, to the nearest sizeable town, Spili; less far, but a good distance, to the taverna at Ligres'. I didn't know the Meltemi winds blew from the south, though!
