About to visit Plakias for the first time - have been to Crete before and many, many Greek islands - found this excellent resource of yours!!!! We are just wanting a relaxing break in the sun with opportunity to go walking, swimming and eating local food - have we found the right place??? Are going with Olympic airways and staying at Santa Maria studios - we usually go independent and go back packing so this package holiday is a bit out of our comfort zone - anyone stayed at Santa Maria - I have read that the rooms out the back are not good - help!!!

I stayed there once, no problems, not far from the beach or centre, nice and quiet you will be fine!

welcome to the forum

i'm sure you'll love plakias

i've also heard that the rooms at back are worse than the front facing ones, but the studios themselves look very nice, slightly out of town though

I stayed there a few years back, and would recomend them to any one. They are about five minutes out of town, but easy walking distance and before you get to the main hill out of town.
Large rooms with all the usual, and a safe which we had to pay for at the time.
But beware the rooms around the back have views of a large concrete wall, we had the room on the left on the ground floor at the front, and it was very cool and spacious.

Good Luck and have a good one!
