No more Harakas ?
« on: December 22, 2018, 08:58:06 PM »
Email from Sonja today.
Husband Lambros has retired so they will now no longer be at Harakas Taverna.
One of our "must" eating places every time we have visited Plakias.
They will be much missed by us.
Wish them well for a long and happy retirement and hope to see then sometime about town ?

That’s a huge shame. Harakas was a favourite of ours.

Good news for Lambros and Sonja, and I wish them the very best for their retirement.

Oddly, I've spent most of the last week looking at the British weather and thinking about returning to Plakias, especially to visit Harakas and Gio Ma, plus a couple of others (Gorgona in particular), in the evenings.

I will miss all of Sonja's 'specials', I really enjoyed them.

Does that mean a huge empty space where the Harakas is ? I would have thought that maybe Martina there daughter may have thought about running it.
I know Lambros had been looking very tired of late,he said as much when I last talked to him.
Maybe he will have more time for fishing I used to see him on the beach out the front of the Harakas sometimes in the early evenings.
Wow what a shock I also wish them a very happy retirement.

Sent Sonia an email wishing them both a happy retirement and received a lovely response last night. They will be missed...I've been eating at the Harakas since 1987 although I'm not sure they've been there that long....just me !
