Sifis
« on: June 16, 2013, 05:24:39 AM »
Ate at Sifis last night. GARGANTUAN portions! The wife had lamb chops - 6 of them! Wine was a bit rough but at 3euros (or 4 not sure now!) for 0.5litre who can argue! Lunch at Peligremnos was, as usual lovely. I love the place, the staff and the food's OK too. Far end of Plakias beach was totally nude (hooray!) but sunbeds were a bit close together I thought. There is now a line of stones making exit from the sea a little undignified, but the stones get less at the Plakias end of the nudist bit. Taking Jeremy the Jimny to Triopetra and Ligres today. Will report back.

We also enjoy the Paligremnos, not been for dinner in the evening as they stopped their music night. The food then was very good? Not eaten in Sifis, there are so many places to eat that we have not tried it yet. It is on the list as long as it is not too busy. Hate crowded restaurants. Ah for the quiet life 8)
Thank you for your review.

Unusually for us (Medousa addicts) we had two dinners in May, both with largish groups, at Paligremnos and they were excellent.

We ate with Sifi and Anna twice for dinner and 3 times for lunch this visit.

Always good food and always a great reception.
We think that all good eating places need a "front of house" character to make them stand out and enhance the eating out experience.
Sifi certainly has that.
Some places, whilst the food is excellent, lack a bit of atmosphere.

Portion size can be a bit daunting at times !!
But for "plainer" food for a change, Sifi is always worth a visit.

Sifi was the first person we met on our first visit to Plakias
We arrived late at night when all else was closed and went to eat with him
2 hours later well fed and full of his wine, we staggered back to our hotel.
