Are there any fans of the souvlakeria in the middle of Plakias?  I've eaten there regularly and the food is great albeit a limited menu plus i'ts a perfect place to watch time go by.

I travelled to Plakias last September 9th for a fortnight.  It was my first time in Plakias for 15 years having travelled there in 1987 and 1988.  Ever since then I've been to the rest of Greece and a few places dotted around the globe.

I have to say that Plakias, still after all those years, has that special something, the 'x' factor that makes holydaying there a total pleasure.

I travelled on my own this year and it was warming to see that me and my fellow singletons in Plakias can have a chilled and relaxing time hassle free.

I didn't manage to get into many conversations with my fellow Plakias travellers, I guess I'd forgotten just how friendly the people of Crete, Plakias and those who travel there really are.  Plus the fact I don't think I stayed in any one place long enough, enjoying a drink in each of the various bars dotted around, not forgetting the Ostraco where I'll establish myself there next time.

I would, though, regularly eat at the 'Souvlaki' taverna in the town (brings back memories of 1988).  They still do a great souvlaki pie and delicious Dakos.

Well, It's Plakias for me from now on.  Hopefully twice a year.  It's truly a warm and friendly place.  May it stay that way.  See you there.  Look forward to your views comments in the future.

Thanks for a great web-site.
