Drones Eye View
« on: June 19, 2014, 10:23:55 AM »
Some of you may have missed this item in a recent Daily Snail, a Website has put together loads of films taken all over the world with unmanned drones.

The link to the website is:   http://travelbydrone.com

If you drag the map across to Crete and zoom in, there is a link to a film showing Plakias and the surrounding area from a different perspective

This is amazing footage...does anyone know if the ruins they have covered are historic (i.e. a fortress - I don't think they're Minoan but they could be Venetian, later or earlier). I have always wondered what they were so any info would be really helpful. I think they're on top of the hill behind the village (between Plakias and Mirthios) and I think they can be accessed from the main road.....although I suspect they are private property.
