I know you guys put a lot of your own time in keeping the site up todate with your replys and comments but i have noticed viewing the site that the local map of the area would be of great use when trying te explain to people where things are

Yes it is something that I would like to add, what we need is a really good map of Plakias. Does anyone have a decent one that can be scanned in?

Then I can start thinking about annotation, marking locations of places etc.

This has been discussed before, on several occasions.

The best we have managed so far is
this.

I think "this" is very good. Would it be possible to superimpose a light grid on it so that someone might refer to something as say "just to the right of the centre of square B5"

The maps which accompany Lance Chilton's two "Plakias walks" books are very good but it would breach his copyright to copy them I guess. Can be bought from Marengo Publications or in Plakias.

Good man Ploppy.
Enjoy the concert.

Edit: Just had another thought...
How's about this:

We contact Anso Travel to see if they have an updated version. ('this' is at least 3 years old).

If they have, we'll ask permission to use it on the forum.  (and, of course, give them a plug).

Either way, we take a blown up copy with us in September and you and I will spend an hour or two updating it with items of interest to forum members.

Are you game?

Sorry for the late response John.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

I can't stop laughing         I wonder how many jugs of the local plonk you two will go through in order to complete the task.       Best excuse I have heard in a long time.

By the way, I want to be the first to see the map the morning after

Yes I was going to mention that perhaps some vino or Mythos would aid the creative process, however I decided this was a given and didn't need mentioning

Clearly I was right

Susan you are most welcome to come along and help (drink or the map)

What a good idea Ploppy, to ask Susan along.
With her organisational skills to call on, it will leave much more time for drinking.

You'd better hang on to it when we've finished then Susan.
Ploppy doesn't do mornings.

OK guys, I'm game. Just tell me where and when. Pencil and rubber at the ready.

I can feel my head hurting already.
