Well, what does everyone else think?

If we can't do it in the forums I could certainly do something linked on the site?

Let me know what you think - and I'll put my thinking cap on.

I'm sure you're right Andy,

I have noticed over the years that the weeks before Christmas are always quiet - other things on people's minds I guess.

Then, after new year - and as people's thoughts turn to summer and holidays, the traffic on site builds up.

In quiet times, the site has roughly 20 visits a day - which builds up to 80 - 100 in the summer.

I would like to see some new topics emerging though - there's a lot more going on in and around Plakias than I know about!

You two got there ahead of me again!

I'd like to add my good wishes to all the Plakias fans - looking forward to catching up after the holiday, when we can all start looking forward to sunshine, sea and Plakias!

Have great time - and all good wishes for 2003!

OK OK George - promise I'll get off my bum this year and get about a bit more!
I did do the Sumaria Gorge a few years ago - a fantastic experience, and my feet have just about recovered!

I'll take a print of your posting with me - and see how many places I can cross off your list.

Holiday Companies / Reps

How's this for a two in one answer Barny:

Right - we don't need reps - especially those like we had to suffer this year.

Yes, Jacinta married Manolis in September 2000 (and it was a real hum dinger of a wedding!). They are living happily in Rethymno - and Jacinta is thinking of returning to part time work next season - after the birth of their first son earlier this year.

Hey George!
So good to see you back!
Not tried the tuna salad yet - but I know about the ice cold mythos - hope we can share a drink next year!

Like you Barny. I love the place.

It's always so relaxed there, and while I don't usually have lunch (unless the donut man is around!), often drop in to see Antonis on the way back from the beach.

I'm a big fan of the toasties - and they do a mean frappe too - if you like that sort of thing.

It's also the best place to watch the sunset!

Hi Anna,
Yes, I remember you in Ostraco - so do the other John and Jason!
I've mailed the guys to see if I can get some pics - but hopefully somebody else will be able to help you out too!
John
PS - You'll see from other postings that your favourite rep didn't finish the season!

If you'd like to put an avatar next to your postings (like my little OstracoMan), then Andy has now enabled a feature on the board so that you can easily do so.
All you need to do is get a logo, picture or design saved somewhere on your PC. It must measure no more than 64 by 64 pixels. (I used Photoshop to do mine)
Go to My Controls, then select Edit Avatar Settings on the left hand side.
In the section headed 'Your image avatars', click the browse button next to Upload an avatar, and click on the avatar file you saved.
Press the 'Add this avatar to my profile' button, and away you go.

Let me know if you have any problems!

Andy and I have been looking at the Forums today, and made a few changes to the appearence. All the links now appear in BLUE and will turn to   ORANGE as you run your mouse over them.
Let me know if you like it - does it look better on YOUR monitor?

Hey Robin,
Perhaps we ought to keep quiet about this - at least until the 2003 bookings are done

I was watching BBC News 24 at lunchtime today. The weatherman said that Greece has had 5 inches of rain in the last 36 hours! It's been pretty wet in Plymouth - but not that bad!

yes but why do we always get out of the sea when it rains in plakias?

Hey yeah - I noticed this year on the beach that on the couple of afternoons that it rained, people GOT DRESSED - and LEFT. I put my towel in my bag and went into the sea    So who's mad - them or me? (Especially as the sun was out again 20 minutes later!)

Holiday Companies / Smart Holidays
« on: November 07, 2002, 01:01:50 PM »
I've just had a chance to look at the Smart Holidays brochure. The 2003 version is not yet available, but they are taking bookings from the 2002 version.

This is a really different company - they offer many more choices to the customer. Apart from some accommodation in town (including the obligatory Alianthios Hotels), they have several options in the wider Plakias area, including villas etc.

Anyone used them in the past, or  have any further comments?

They have a website - Click here
