Like the title says, BA are now doing flights directly to Heraklion. We booked a couple of days ago, for a very reasonable price, and bagged the last two seats for outbound May 01, so if scheduled flights appeal, best book soon.

Interesting as BA used to fly to Heraklion from Manchrster and then Easyjet took them over - same planes, Same crew, same terminal etc. Indeed on the first year of takeover the plane Easyjet paint over was unfinished when we travelled sporting half Easyjet colours and half BA colours. Must say the Easyjet service was far superior.

Interesting indeed, so interesting I just booked for next September. Never done it this early before.
They used to do a Gatwick flight too, again EasyJet took that over, glad they are back in the game, finally get the opportunity to spend some Avios (15, 000 got me £100 off)

Yes, we did the same with Avios, also saved £100 but flying from LGW.
Wasn't entirely clear from the website, but I think that the tickets may also be a little more 'flexible' having done this?

Do they do a direct flight from Heathrow?
-
No, don't think so unfortunately. We live a short drive from Heathrow and would use it out of preference.
-
We too live a few miles from Heathrow so it would be ideal, but alas no, so Gatwick it is.
No direct flights to Crete from LHR, have used Aegean before now from LHR which was fine but costs and wait times in Athens make it not a great choice now.
-
We used Swissair last year, via ZRH, very good if you are not in a hurry, short transfer time and not a bad price either.
In any event, May can't come soon enough for me!

Maybe I am being thick (no comments please) but have tried to find out from both BA and Gatwick when the flights start and finish but am having no luck. I have to tell them when I want to fly rather than when they fly, going slightly crazy.

Slightly?

Looks like Tue, Thu, Fri & Sun starting Sun 26th of April, finishing Fri 23rd of October so probably not a lot of good to you Ali :-(

Thanks Paul. Not much use really.
