Apologies if this is a duplicate message but my earlier attempt doesn't seem to have made it
A couple of people have mentioned the situation this year at Dora -- I gather Dora's husband was taken very ill and is in hospital in Athens. She'd left the day-to-day running to her daughters.
We gathered this when we complained after the room had not been cleaned for a couple of days and things seemed to improve after that.
The other thing I'd asked was whether anyone knew where one could get one of those balls that bounces on water - there was a couple (English?) playing with one on the beach (far end) earlier this week.... any ideas..?

I did know that Dora's husband is very ill. She was going to Athens as often as she could , I gather. It is a very sad time for her of course.
Eleni was looking after the studios on and off while Dora was absent but she had to be woken up each time I needed to ask her a question , whatever time of the day it was.
Sandy , the Olympic rep , knew all about the situation but did nothing . The 2 weeks I was there was like a learning curve re the cleaning , rubbish etc., If Sandy had informed everyone of the problems I am sure we would have made an extra effort to deal with things from the outset.

I think my apartment was serviced about 5 times a week when I was there which I found satisfactory and pretty well the norm for Olympic accommodation. I was there the two weeks before Heather and wouldn't like to comment on whether the situation changed in that time as Heather's expectations may have been different from mine. As I reported in the Article system I was satisfied with Dora but accept that I was lucky to have a ground floor apartment with a decent balcony view. The room had everything I needed and expected.

The ball looks good fun - if it keeps people amused and not craving for ringos and bananas, that suits me.

I have had a reply today (17/7/09) from Olympic with regards to the situation at Doras. Olympic says they "have not been made aware of any problems with the accommodation in respective of any ill health relating to the owner and indeed there are no issues regarding maintenance or upkeep of the accommodation" so there we have it. I just hope Doras husband recovers soon. Regards to all Dave .
