Sirocco Restaurant
« on: August 01, 2011, 04:52:20 PM »
Before I book to return to Plakias again can anyone who has been tp Plakias recently this year, (June/July) please tell me if the Sirocco restaurant is still operating, especially is Babis still working front of house for his Dad (Capello look alike- poor man). I had heard Babis had left for a Monastry, but, knowing the Greek way of doing things, this is often not for life!
So, is Babis there?
I would miss not being able to sit and watch the sun set behind the hill, but no doubt I could console myself with a few more drinks at the Livicon, and learn some more greek from Dionysius.

Sirocco was open in June/July, we didn't go in but friends did & I believe Babis is not there as he has joined the Monastry.

I saw that Babis has gone to a monestary. Why? What happened to  Maria?
Does this mean Haralambos Mastorantonakis is running it or is the ownership now outside the family?

(In Plakias): Had a nice meal at Sirocco (formerly Siroko), food was quite OK, but the athmosphere was gone, felt very impersonal.
Will try to find another favourite restaurant.
But Creta Mare and George Kokkinakis were as usual, like the place, nice view from the balconys. Love to have my breakfast on the balcony, admiring the view, preparing the for the day. Or sitting there with my retsina in the evening...
