sea view for disabled couple
« on: May 14, 2003, 09:16:58 PM »
We are looking for a place in Plakias which is quiet, has a sea view, and is on the ground floor with no steps! probably impossible, though from memory we wonder if there is anywhere just on the west side of the centre. Any information would be appreciated. Self catering probably best, but not necessary.

Hello . We have just returned from Plakias and I don't think you will get anywhere with a seaview on the gorund floor unless you look out of town. Most of the seafront is shops and taveras with accomodation above. The Alianthos would possibly be a good option as they seem to have all the mod cons lifts etc.

Hi Alison hope you had a good holiday. While you where in Plakias did you notice what cards the new cash dispensers were for.?

Hello. Did use the mini bank while we were in Plakias, I have a Lloyds Visa Delta Card, but didn't notice if the banks accepted a Switch card or not..You should be safe with Visa.
Have a good Hol.
Alison.
xx

What about the Horizon Beach Hotel, just west of the centre? Has anyone stayed there, is it reasonably accessible on the level?

If I remember correctly the hotel stands above road level so may not have good disabled access.  Why not email the owner  Stavros Giparakis at and ask him?

You will find more details of the hotel on http://www.interkriti.org

Good Luck

In Greece ALL cash machines accept Switch cards. I have used mine exclusively now on 4 trips over the last 2 years and never had a problem.
