as much i know    there is no fixed itinerary ship to Gavdos ... here are some photos from my friend Gas Leclair http://www.plakiasontherocks.gr/gavdosuk.html ...enjoy!

Any idea when the boat stops going out to Gavdos from Plakias?

Hoping to spend a week or so there early October but I'm prepared to have to come back to Crete via the ferries to Chora Sfakia or Paleochora.

Thanks

I think you wil have to ask Lefteris from the Smerna Bar, I think it depends on the weather and how many passengers he wil have.

That is correct.

I was there 2weeks ago  , the best and biggest room I had so far " sat tv, internet, ac, cooking and a place to sit and a real table "
The price was very good. And if there's anything you want the owners are always in the supermarket below the appartment.

Hi Heather, my recommendation would be to stay at Stella's (friendly and quiet), book with Easyjet (we got a Sunday day flight for £150) and try the Shuttle bus/taxi offered on the Easyjet site which will be significantly cheaper than a taxi (another forum member used it earlier and posted prices).

Good luck!

Go independent, I am in Plakias now and booked a room at Helios app (the best an biggest I had so far " sat tv, internet, ac, cooking and a place to sit and a real table")  for 320 euro 2wks.
Hired a car for 3 days pick up Heraklion and return plakias for 110 euro (beats a cab).

BTW, The wind is back.

Greeting Steven.

Plakias / "Village Store" closes ....

I read good news on the youth hotel message board

"Message from: Chris"

"The library will arise like a pheonix in about 6 weeks time.

New premises have been found only 5 minutes walk through the olive groves from the hostel.

The landlord has to build some new internal walls and put in a new door for us. We then have to paint the place, intall the shelving and then the books and dvds.

The new place will be larger and, bravo, we will have electricity. "
