We'll be "doing the rounds" and checking out the whole island IF we can get our fat *rses on a 50c.c. moped(?) or up the insurance  and c.c. before we go! Either that or maybe a car (boo hoo!!) for a few days.
Is Paradiso (the one over the top of the mountains) do-able in/on anything other than a meaty bike or 4x4?? (There's a lot of weight to get back up a dirt track on a 50c.c. you know!)- FAIL!!!

Are you on about 2 of you on the 50cc?

Honestly, I wouldn't do it on a 50cc on my own, with a pillion on the back it may not get up many hills.

Lowest I'd do it on is a 125, that should cope with 2 people on.

Yes, over the mountain takes about 30min you will definately need 125cc especially if there's two like us.
We hired ours from Katerina's (a black Typhoon, piagio motor.) At the bottom of the hill before the climb up to Kefalos village.
Another quiet beach is Kata, same direction. When you get to the T junction instead of turning left to Paradisco Beach, turn right signposted for the Monastery.

Yesterday went from a gorgeous morning with the sea as flat as a millpond,  to a sudden increase in temperature and humidity,  and increasing cloud developing in the hills. It did not rain and the clouds cleared up. This morning was humid, relatively cool and rather cloudy,  Sadly we left this morning, so can't say more about the rest of the day, but there was no cloud on the north coast. There is some rain forecast in the next few days, but I hope it does not spoil your holidays.  Forecasts are not always accurate.

It was so good to see two gentlemen this morning being reunited with a certain dog at the far end.
We suspect this dog is in for a lot of treats in the next few weeks.

That pooch didn't visit the beach at all during our June break!

The sea looks rough today, and the forecast rain seems to have arrived.  It makes me feel a bit better about being back in the office, but I feel very sorry for the holidaymakers there now.

I'd still rather be there though.

It looks likely a lovely day today and the forecast on the webcam site seems to have improved.

Now I am back to being jealous, but that is greedy as I've already had my dose of Plakias....

The far end looks a bit 'dark' from here, I'm sure it's still nice and warm?
Is there a named addiction to looking at a web cam and wanting to be there?
