Hi all,
I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts are regarding this 'ash' cloud business? I seems like it will be around forever according to today's Jeremy Vine show!
I am due to fly out on August 3rd  so maybe it will be OK?
I cant imagine not going this year after 20 years without fail!
What do you all think?

Hopefully by August (we go in August as well) the prevailing wind will be from the south west, pushing the cloud north east.

I think you come back on the day we depart, so if the airport is closed only one of us will be happy.
We could be stuck at Gatwick with you stuck in Plakias - life's just not fair sometimes.

Well there's not much we can do about it is there Barny!
If the airports wanna close it's up to them but I feel it should be the airlines decision whether to fly or not, and not rely on the 'big brother' scenario.
I'm with Branson on this one, if the airline want to take the risk, it must be reasonably safe, after all if it isn't they'll have one hell of a lot to lose. And I don't mean just non returning customers!

I tried uploading one last night and the thing said it would automatically adjust the size (can i get one) but it said the photo was too big? The message thing is broken too. Ideas anyone?

I assume you were using an uploaded one before? (rather than a linked to one that you hosted elsewhere)

Returning to topic: I might have to consider going by train/ferry.  But how long will that take?  And how much will it cost?  Not going is simply not an option (accomodation already booked).  I think I'll delay booking a flight until the last minute.
