Title: Sea Temperature
Post by: Mike from Sussex on October 10, 2008, 03:31:48 PM
Has anybody else checked the sea temperature at Plakias? I did so last week and got a reading, after 15 minutes, of just over 76F (25.5C), though it didn't feel that warm when the first wave broke over the nuts

I came across this link through the Greek "Met. Office" (HNMS) site - Sea Temperatures (http://www.vernicos.com/weather/weatherLink.asp?page_id=52&type=sst&pagename=Temperature%20of%20Sea%20Water) .... currently, southern Crete has got the best conditions (http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/more/bigs/c005.gif)

Come Wednesday, I'll be making an "on the spot" inspection - it's bound to beat both the North and Irish seas.(http://bestsmileys.com/lol/4.gif)

Today the warmest waters are off the east coast at 24 deg. C, and those off Plak some 2 deg. C cooler.
