In the public domain (on www.flickr.com) there are more pictures of Mandaki posing on various beaches. I keep coming across them when searching for places in Crete: Elafonissi, Paleochora, Sougia, Matala, Red Beach, Ligres etc.

there are quite a few of my pics on the captain's site, not my usual quality as he had to use his back up copy when his site crashed a few years ago

and before you start flogging my photo's off, remember whose they are! ( public domain!!  )

there are a lot more of mandy on the flickr site but I've never posted them on here, just because i never considered them appropriate for the forum, i am very lucky to have her as a model and a wife!

i should add that all the pics are in the best possible taste! and Mandy says she is too busy to post at the moment but says she is most pleased you have been kept amused

There are more nude peoplea the the far end than I've ever seen before. They go all the way from the second beach bar to the end and almost all sunbeds are full. There is still enough room for those of use who want to put a beach mat on the sand though.

I've sunbathed today on Mikro Ammoudhi, Ammoudhi (yes, with a greek couple) and Skinara. From Ammoudhi to  Skinaria I found a better path than before. I couldn't find the cairns as in Harribobbs instructions, but from Ammoudhi I followed a track up to the left then a path across a field on the right, then it's easy to follow the path.

The Far End:
When I remember, last year and the year before there were the sunbeds in three rows. And this year we had only two rows.
At the beginning of our holidays (05/05-19/05/07) we were nearly alone on the beach and there were enough sunbeds.

During the last 4 or 5 days the Far End was most frequently visited and if we came later then 10 o'clock in the morning
there were no or not enough sunbeds available. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask Freddy about this.

Sorry about the wrong words and grammer - that post was made after midnight in the Ostraco after I'd had a few Mythos, which may explain it.

There were only two rows of sunbeds, but I don't think they were ever all completely full.

On Mikro Ammoudhi there were 4 rows of sunbeds and there were always plenty of them empty. They were placed well up the beach though, leaving plenty of room in front for the beach mat users. This reminds me of why I stopped coming to Plakias at one point: it was the first year of the train, and the first year of sunbeds on Mikro Ammoudhi - all the sunbeds were then near to the sea so if you had a beach mat you could only go behind them all and couldn't see the sea. This all made me think that Plakias was getting too commercialised. Five years later, after I had discovered this bulletin board and read all about it again, I returned to Plakias and have been a couple of times since.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say by posting this picture as there's no comment. I'm sure it's not this year and, judging by the burnt state of the vegetation, I think it must be late in the summer.

'Scuse me for butting in but it reads to me as though Harribobs was providing photographic evidence to back up your statement -

In the pic, there are only four rows; up the beach; well spaced out.

indeed it was Sept last year, and as chas says, it was for illustration purposes!

Early this June there was still four rows but the number is unbrellas in each row had increased, it made the beach feel very crowded and hemmed in. By doing this they have restricted the area that is used by people who just turn up and used thier own umberllas, towls or mats, really unfair. Though the beach was 99% naturist except for Sundays when it would drop to 70%.
