Hi Leen,

don't mention it. I'm pleased that you like my site.

I just discovered this forum, it's nice to read all theses stories. We are in Mirthios every May/June for a week at Villa Stella, up on the hill.

There appear to be three buses a day at the moment but this could change next week.  Does any need to know the current times?

Hello Hartmut,

The thumbnail you have attached is so beautiful that I now have it as my screen saver to remind me of Plakias.  We are visiting in June for a couple of weeks and I have made myself a promise that I would like to be standing on that very spot where the photo was taken.  Would you be able to give me some directions as to where the photo was taken from??
Regards,
Joolz

That photo is taken from the summit of Timos Savros which is the very prominent steep sided rounded hill behind the Far End Beach (when viewed from Plakias town) and which has a tiny typical white chapel on the top. You really cannot miss it from this description when you get to Plakias. There is a very good path to the top - been a few times - need some refreshments for the heat. About a 2 hour stroll to the top from near the base. As is obvious from that photo (I have one too !!)  there are exceptional panoramic views from the top.

Many thanks for your replies.

Does the path start behind the Paligremnos?

Roll on June - Timos Stavros here I come.

Best wishes to you all for a lovely Summer and happy times in Plakias.

Joolz.

er depends on how you look at it. You could walk the whole distance from Plakias and back but that is rather a long way (not impossible for those VERY keen and fit folks)

We parked our car in the village of Lefkogia which is in effect at the base of the hill.
