Plakias / Midnight closing

More than happy to say I made it back to Plakias amidst this pandemic. All seems as pleasant as ever here but I have noticed that the bars all close at midnight. I can only assume that this is some response to the pandemic? I also just saw a police patrol pass by (about 1:10 am), something I have rarely seen in the 16 years coming here. Well I guess needs must....
It is quieter than usual at this time of year, but non the worse for that. The ever creeping development continues But time waits for no man, woman or identifiable gender!
Always a comfort for the soul to be here, so if you’re still undecided if you should make the journey here - just do it!

Plakias / Observered imbalance

Just returned from the wonderful retreat that is Plakias, my tenth visit in fifteen years. I couldn’t help noticing what had used to be a really mixed community of visitors has now become quite populated by many German visitors, not that I have any opposition to the German folk, my partner is German!
I am just wondering if there is a particular push from tourist operators in Germany to focus on Plakias?
Plakias for me has always been a wonderful small town where it’s own spirits have been the greatest asset, the diversity of its visitors was also of great appeal.
Has anyone else noticed this development or did my latest visit simply coincide with a German holiday week?
