Hi
Yes, we enjoyed another wonderful holiday, despite the wind.  Doesn't it get everywhere?  Great to meet everyone at Medusa.  Great pics, John.  Sorry we've none of Freddie or the donut man.  Good idea to have an annual reunion although to be fair, it may have to be more often than 'annual' to give others a chance.

Couldn't agree more Yvonne but as I'm only likely to go to Plakias once a year at most (unfortunately), I'm only prepared to organise meets that I can attend.  Selfish, I know, but there it is.

Of course, anyone can arrange a meet and, in that respect, I would encourage all users of this wonderful bulletin board (thanks to Ostraco (and Andy)) to put their visits on the calendar.

By the way, I very much enjoyed our outing through the mountains with Peter and Valerie and I'm thinking of organising something similar for a group next year.  As our navigator, will you be there?

That's what's the board is for - just keep in touch - let everyone know when you're there - and have fun!
Going back on August 31st next year - I think. Hoping to meet - or meet again - with as many as possible

Calling all new members!  Plakforms Meet alert!

Last September, 20 of those forum members who were in Plakias on the 5th met up for dinner at Medousa (pictures here).

It was such a success that we're doing it again this year, this time on Friday the 10th September at Sofia.

We already have 16 on the list for this year and we haven't heard from Ostraco yet.  Surely you're coming John?

On the following Sunday (12th Sept.) there will also be a leisurely safari convoy to visit some out-of-the-way places up in the mountains.  Details here.

All are welcome to either event.
I hope to see you there!

John - which Sofia?  Is it the one at the harbour or the bigger one on the main street?

See you there

Hi Allan,

Click the word Sofia in my post and you'll see it (by the harbour).

Compage,

Much as I'd like to, I won't be able to come to the Plakforms Dinner as I'm leaving on the 6th.   :'(

However, I have read this topic from the beginning , and have gone through all your 'photos with particular interest as this will be my first trip to Plakias.  I thought they were super, and gave me an idea of what the place is like.  They should certainly be required viewing for any first-timers as John R suggests.

Hi Noopsy,

Sorry you'll miss the Plakforms Meet.  We all enjoyed the first one last September.

I hope you enjoy your first visit to Plakias.  We usually stay at the Palegremnos too and we'll be arriving this year on the day before you leave.  We find it very convenient for the beach, for lunch and the walk into town and back on a September evening is no trouble at all.

Thanks for your compliments on the pictures.  I made a concerted effort last year to take lots of pictures of the village because I've often wanted to look back at what the place was like in earlier years and could never find what I wanted.

Have a good time.

Did anyone get a picture of Freddy who looks after the beds and brollies at the far end?  In particular, one of him and Leftheris the doughnut man?
