Just got back from 2 weeks in Plakias that matches any we've previously had. Lots of snippets of information and thoughts to pass on but in the main we'll do it through the Article System where it will be easier for forum members to find out quickly what's been said about particular establishments. With September being a busy month, between us we should be able to expand its content considerably. Having at least 4 or 5 comments about a place gives a more balanced idea of what a place is like -

That's exactly what I did G & K, but it doesn't hurt putting in some general comments about Plakias etc. in the 'reporting in' thread like I did.
It gives others new and old a general impression of how the holiday overall went for you and can always provoke comments.
The article system doesn't cover everything, and I wouldn't expect it too, the weather, atmoshpere, shops and the people you've met etc. all add to the general running, information and enjoyment on the forum and I think others find it interesting to read. I know I do!
The thoughts, praise and criticisms (if any) can always be added to the A.S. if a heading is there for it. If there isn't one I'm sure that Paul will add it.
I think we're all honest enough here to be truthfull with our comments on the A.S. I think I even had a go at the Lysseous a couple of years ago and that's one of my favourite places.
Not having a go guys (I've just read this), but holiday stories/experiences are always interesting and entertaining. It would be a shame to loose them.

I agree - I wasn't suggesting we post fewer stories/experiences. I love reading them. We haven't had as much interaction with the locals as some so our experiences are more suited to the A.S.

And I look forward to having time to post them! To go from having all the time in the world while on holiday to not enough hours in the day has taken some getting used to - TGIF

I don't know how I have the neck to keep posting here (http://www.abestweb.com/smilies/noooooo.gif)

Love the ever-new smileys you put in your posts, Chas. (Sigh) Wish I was a computer whizz-kid.

There are loads of smileys/gifs around ... here's a few of the sites I grab them from:
http://www.abestweb.com/smilies/ (http://www.abestweb.com/smilies/)
http://www.chatitaliachat.it/serpe/ (http://www.chatitaliachat.it/serpe/)
http://www.clicksmilies.com/index.html (http://www.clicksmilies.com/index.html)
http://www.cheesebuerger.de/smilie.php?setlang=english (http://www.cheesebuerger.de/smilie.php?setlang=english)
Just right-click on the one you want and select "Copy image location"*, then paste it into your post and put IMG-tags around it ....

... 'seasy (http://www.chatitaliachat.it/serpe/ride/113.gif)
* that's the Firefox option - can't remember what IE has but it's vaguely similar.

Great stuff. (http://www.abestweb.com/smilies/applause.gif) (http://www.abestweb.com/smilies/#) Now we can all liven up (http://www.abestweb.com/smilies/mango.gif) (http://www.abestweb.com/smilies/#) our posts even more.
P.S. For those with Internet Explorer you just click on "Copy". It is also not necessary to put img tags round the smiley.

Glad to be of service (http://www.abestweb.com/smilies/sunny.gif)
.... and now, the bad news, in a few short hours, we're off to Naxos for a couple of weeks (Kosmar made an offer we couldn't refuse - nothing available in Plakias!) ....
so there's no smiley support for a while.
