Me too - two great friends of ours on that photo - two people who represent what Plakias is all about. In the right location - Medousa - where we meet them each evening when we are there.

Wow, must be good for anyone to go there every evening. I'll give it a try, although even if it was "Michelin starred" food and free I still wouldn't go there every evening.

I don't know why we never tried it last year- we certainly looked at the menu at least once, although it was off our normal evening stroll routes.

I'm not suggesting it is the very best in Plakias and most people including those in our group (Saga louts) ring the changes. Our friends on the photo have good personal reasons for always eating there. It just suits us fine and we are creatures of habit. Having gone there so often we feel completely at home and are obviously made very welcome. Do give it a try but don't feel that you need to emulate us. I'm a bit of a boring food fad and their menu just happens to cope very well with me. Gillian is very much not a food fad but finds that the menu and in particular their specials gives her adequate variety for the duration of our stay there. They now know what my fads are and the kitchen knows exactly what to serve me on any dish that I order.  Takes a long time to train an establishment like that.

we don't eat there every night but certainly most nights you'll find us there

it's a damn good taverna, good honest food and great company

IMHO it's the places off the main road that make the extra effort that make it worthwhile...and the people you meet there and the...oh you get the idea

Couldn't agree more,
Everything freshly cooked by Despina (is that spelt right?)
and Babis's hospitality   (especialy his own red wine & Raki), what more could you want?

Alright you blokes- "go west young man" In reading this stuff I think you need to get out of town -just a bit west to a place called Alykes- the last taverna just before you make the bend to souda- without a doubt the best homemade food- give it a try- I know it is a bit of a walk from town, but well worth it. You are all used to hiking. Start with a plate of the pitas and meatballs- HMMMMMMMMMM

Is it not a bit late to be posting- I was afraid you all are sleeping off a good raki up there. Anyway, may I suggest carrying a flask for your stagger back home

Hello Santa,

If Paul (Ploppy) is reading this maybe he will add this to the tavernas in the "Reviews/FAQ" section so you can add a review. It sounds good.

they keep making me do some work....it's very unfair

give me a flask of raki ( or a bladder) and you might not see me again!
