Here we go... Raise a glass to this moment. The beginning of the dismantling.
These structures will form the new beach activity centre just in front of where Meltemi once stood. Asked quietly where the posters which once adorned the walls were heading. Advised equally quietly there was a waiting list as long as Meltemi had been open for Bob Marley et al...

We never frequented the Meltemi so we're not affected by its closure but ... a 'Beach Activity Centre' is very worrying

George,
As you keep on repeating your above post:

How many t-shirts do you have, did you buy the whole lot?
Or do you need the money for the increased prices.........?
Leen.

PS
What is a beach activity centre?
I live close to a beach, but we donot have other activities then "taverna's" on the beach.

Probably hit the button more than once as you do!

I also want to know what a 'beach activity centre' is. I do hope as numerous other do that it's not floating bananas and jet skis

Does anyone know what's planned??

If you don't like what's going on there you should avoid everything branded with "alianthos" ! Hotels, car rent, and the train...
My bid for the shirt: 5£ [Unfortunately I sold our microbus with the old meltemi sticker last year... has anybody one in store?
Would you be so kind to post a photo of the meltemi in a little bit larger version???

alianthos sucks...

Don't worry about the new beach activities.  Not bananas and jetskis. only sailboats and it's an independent person and not part of alianthos. Maybe returner (who are you?) can you fuller and better details than I can.

Is this not a part of the new alianthos complex... Wonder how many of the  holiday-skippers will make their trip to libya ... As I have been reported there must  be strong winds sometimes...

Dance this mess around

Thanks for the info Ali - I would say only slightly comforting - it may start with sailboats (dinghies or windsurfer/sailboard?) but oculd lead to other things. If windsurfers are hired out, this will probably create a 'no-go' area for bathers at that part of the beach as the boards are controlled well by the majority of people who hire them (me included when I had a go years ago).

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember that Philipos (from the Meltemi) had a windsurf rental thing back in the 80s. And that he gave it up in part because of too many rescue missions in the direction of Libiya. Sailboats will have the same problem      so if it turns out to be a problem then maybe it'll be a shortlived one
