Plakias / Bike/car rental

Re biking  -  please be aware of the pot holes and the high verges on the roads.  We are "bikers"  and used to bikes but we are always wary of the roads abroad.  As was mentioned before if it rains the roads are very very slippery.  We are going back to Plakias in September but are hiring a car this time !!!

PlakChat / 2003 Prices

Hi, we are also finding the prices going up. This is our second year in Plakias but 4th year in Crete.  The price we paid for this year is 55euros for a 2 bed-roomed apartment.  I hope for that money it will be better than the basic greek apartments.  The flights are also expensive getting, we were wondering if it would be cheaper to do a package like we did 3 years ago as you would have the satisfaction of a rep, holiday insurance and travel down to plakias all included.  I think the Euro has had a lot to do with the price increase
