Improving access information
« on: January 12, 2014, 07:02:36 PM »
Can you help to improve access information for disabled travellers?

As I make no secret about on this forum, I use crutches and occasionally a wheelchair, and am very keen on accessibility issues.

I am carrying out research for a Masters degree, developing an easy to use method to gather information useful to disabled travellers.  The intention is that reviewers, disabled or not, could then  include access information in on-line reviews, making it a bit easier for disabled people to decide on where to go and where to stay.

If you are someone who needs access information yourself, or if you travel with someone with access needs, I would be grateful if you could complete this survey.

The survey should take between 10 and 20 minutes to complete and can be saved part way through.  The link is here: http://www.survey.bris.ac.uk/salford/access_information

I would be grateful if you could pass the survey link on people you know who may be interested, either directly, through your social networks or through other forums.

This survey will be open until Sunday 26 January 2014.

Many, many thanks

Hi,

The survey is extended to 29 January, if anyone is still interested in completing it.

Many thanks

Hello,

Following on from my original message, thanks to you if you contributed to the first part of this study. I am now at the final stage of the research and I'd like to ask for your help again.  I am looking for people with little or no knowledge of access issues to try out the access audit I have developed.

You will have to pretend you are on holiday, and gather access information useful to fellow holidaymakers on the places you visit or stay in, using your local area as a stand-in Plakias!  It shouldn't take more than an hour of your time, and you can do as little or as much of the audit as you like.

Please go to this link to find out more and to register your interest, and I will contact you with further information.

If you know anyone else who might be interested, please share the link with them. The more the merrier!

Many, many thanks
