Quote from: spotttttttWe are hoping to go in late June, is it possible toget there and back in a day or is an over night stay advisable?
During our stay in Plakias we have seen the ferry. You leave Plakias port in the morning and you will be back
early in the evening.
Have a look there: http://www.gavdosstar.com/
Hi Kerstin, thank you and hope your journey is safe too !
See you in Livicon ??
I've seen this before Raymond, I've been a fan of Fascinating Aida for years, they are brilliant and it didn't hurt seeing this again. Thanks for uploading it and very apt at the moment!
george...
Quote from: paleoFYI - Its snowing in Plakias today
Snowing here as well - didn't take long to get here !! I understand that it temperature in the Samaria gorge was -5 last night. Not sure how high up the gorge that was though. Was 2C at Sfakia earlier this morning. So much for an earlier post from me hoping that winter tourism might be sustainable one day !!

Jann, we will arrive on the 2nd of May and we will stay at Castello.
Kerstin
Lovely, I hope to meet up with you again Kerstin? I am going with a friend this time, perhaps we can arrange to meet up for a drink sometime ?
How long are you there for?
Jann
We will stay in Plakias until the 16th of May. Yes, of course we can have a drink. After our evening meals we prefer the Livicon
because we like it very much.
See you soon!

Quote from: ArnakiThe caves would appear to be Zoniana, unless Bruce tells us anything different.

This page give the entry price as 4 Euros in 2004 so I am not sure how up to date the site is, but I don't suppose the caves will have changed much in 7 years.
Arnaki
Hi,
Actually they are the Melidoni Caves

We visited them the same day as the fort in Rethymno - our "away day".
Cheers,
Bruce
Quote from: Mike GI was just wondering who has booked for 2011 already.
Mike
We usually weaken just after Christmas and have booked again and now dream of cold beer on the balcony, wild flowers, lovely walks and an orange juice in a beech bar...
