Plakias / New Ferry Plakias-Gavdos

We are hoping to go in late June, is it possible toget there and back in a day or is an over night stay advisable?

During our stay in Plakias we have seen the ferry. You leave Plakias port in the morning and you will be back
early in the evening.

Looking on the link above, it states that the ferry service between Plakias and Gavdos has been postponed until further notice.

I've seen this before Raymond, I've been a fan of Fascinating Aida for years, they are brilliant and it didn't hurt seeing this again. Thanks for uploading it and very apt at the moment!

FYI - Its snowing in Plakias today

Snowing here as well - didn't take long to get here !! I understand that it temperature in the Samaria gorge was -5 last night. Not sure how high up the gorge that was though. Was 2C at Sfakia earlier this morning. So much for an earlier post from me hoping that winter tourism might be sustainable one day !!

Delighted to say I've just booked today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    at Dora for 2 weeks from 26th April with Olympic  , can't wait!  only 9 weeks to go!

Jann, we will arrive on the 2nd of May and we will stay at Castello.

We will stay in Plakias until the 16th of May. Yes, of course we can have a drink. After our evening meals we prefer the Livicon
because we like it very much.

Thats nice, there you will be enjoying the hospitality of the Livicon, and we are stuck here. Not that we are jealous - much.    
We hope you have a great time, say hello to Emma, Fredie and Dionisis (not sure of the spelling) from us.

The caves would appear to be Zoniana, unless Bruce tells us anything different.

This page give the entry price as 4 Euros in 2004 so I am not sure how up to date the site is, but I don't suppose the caves will have changed much in 7 years.

We usually weaken just after Christmas and have booked again and now dream of cold beer on the balcony, wild flowers, lovely walks and an orange juice in a beech bar...
