Health "Alert"

This topic is for the information of those who have never travelled to Greece/Crete before.

Being such a person as described above, and travelling independently its down to me to do the necessary homework.  Part of this involved running a routine check on Ceefax for immunisation requirements for Greece.  Not expecting to find anything I was astonished to see that vaccination against Yellow Fever was recommended for anyone travelling to that country.    So I got onto the DOH website for clarification, and found that this vaccination is only required for people arriving from an infected country, and specifically not for anyone coming directly from the UK.

So relax and ignore what it says on Ceefax.  No jabs for Greece are required.

Good ol' ceefax, never let's you down!!

If anyone's interested go to a site called Gazzetters DG&G this site is a subscription site but it is bloody good!   It's a truth guide and gives you information (using a search box) on countries, resorts , properties, areas , airlines , tour ops,
health&visa, climates - every travel agent uses it in britain because it is so much quicker than using an ordinary search engine.

WOW! at that price it had better be good, but isn't it a shame that the average holidaymaker is not allowed easy access to this kind of info?.....I guess it just goes to show that many in the travel industry have things to hide!
