Hi Will
We have been staying there every year since 1996.  The first couple of years we travelled with First Choice and were given a room at the back of the hotel looking up the lane towards what was then the Crazy Dolphin.  We then started travelling independently and booking direct with the Alianthos, booking a car with them also.  The room we have had ever since has been number 110, first floor, corner room on the Kyma side overlooking the sea.  The rooms are fairly basic but clean and fresh with fridge and TV.  We are always greeted like long lost friends, first (several) drinks on the house, and made to feel very welcome.  Service is great without being 'in your face'!  The hotel is in an ideal position for both beach and tavernas/bars.
Hope this helps
Jan

Thanks Jan,
It will be our first time in Plakias and we 're looking forward to it ( June ,3) . I'm glad you're positif about Alianthos Beach. More info is welcome. Sorry if you find my English strange but i'm from the Netherlands and i don't write in English very often.

I can fully endorse the Alianthos Beach Hotel as being 'the place to stay' whilst in Plakias. We liked to have the room on the corner, above the taverna, that way we had the benefit of the mountain view as well as the sea view.  We shall miss our friends there this year, as they really have become part of our family.  might I also recommend their Anthos apartments?  These are at the top of the hill, and although they cost a few euros more than some of the other apartments in Plakias, are well worth it, the views over the bay are suberb.
Happy holidaying to one and all!
Yvonne

Yes, I tried as well, and all I got back was an error message (this has happened to me on several other occasions).  Maybe Ploppy might know what the reason for this could be.

Just in case anyone is interested.
The beach hotel was the first of the two Alianthoses, and the Vardakis family where like parents to me when I got there first in 1975. Joseph and Manoli and their wifes ran it. They actually started up as tomato growers on that property, growing hot house tomatoes for the early markets.
I saw the new Alianthos first in 1987, Manoli ran it, while Joseph stayed in the beach hotel.
They definetely had a goldmine.
Just a bit of useless trivia.
cheers Hopper.

I stayed there with my wife last year and I will be there again this year. Service is excellent, always feel warmly welcomed and the location is convenient.
The rooms are spartan, beds are not the most comfortable. Renting and returning your moped or car can all be managed at the front desk.
Overall a great place to stay.

But a bit pricey   .
I emailed them a few times this year and found Eleni   on reception very helpful, not only with all the accommadation prices, but for an overall package for a fly drive. The prices for their apartments on the beach, the Anthos (the old Gallini beach) are the same as the hotel, but they do sound well equiped.

That's odd.  I clicked the search link posted above and it didn't work for me either.

Yes, that one works.

I wonder if Ploppy's recent changes to the forum have broken something?

Of course you can also click "Article System" where a review of the establishment written by yours truly can easily be accessed.
