Plakias / Has Amoudaki beach fallen to non-naturists?
« on: August 14, 2014, 10:47:04 PM »
It's been my 8th year in Plakias, never been here in August. I'm an avid naturist, so I go mainly to the Amoudaki beach (a.k.a. Micro Amoudi). Usually there are 95% naturists there. For some reason, this August (never been in August, mind you) it is about 80% non-naturists most of the time. The atmosphere though is of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.
Someone told me that, in August, a lot of Greek people, locals and Atheneans come to Amoudaki, this month being their traditional vacation.
Should I be worried or is it just a harmless seasonal migration of non-naturists that comes every August? Has there ever been a problem with mingling of the two populations. Can anyone of the old-timers enlighten me, please?

Reporting back.
Agapi's studio is there, professional as ever.  The former apprentice, Christiana, now works without supervision, and she is very good too.
Well worth a visit. Or three. You will love it!
We plan to come here every other day of our two-week stay.

Plakias / Massage in Plakias
« on: September 22, 2013, 02:35:22 PM »
Agapi's Olive Oil Massage Studio - I saw someone trying to promote it a couple of times in the last few years, it did not attract the attention it deserved.
I've been traveling to Plakias in the last 7 or 8 years (not much of a contributor to this forum, though), and being a massage fan I looked everywhere, and discovered this young and ambitious therapist 3 years ago, when she operated from a small rented room. Last year she moved to her current location at the west end of the main road next to Talisman jewelry store, and even trained an apprentice who became her assistant this year.
I know a good massage therapist when I see one, and Agapi is like that. She is robust, agile, knowledgeable, and very pleasant, as is her staff. She uses simple materials (olive oil with few, if any, additives), and the main attraction is her technique, which suited me very much. My wife also enjoyed the touch of her assistant, as she did hers 2 years ago.
We spent more than 2 weeks in Plakias this September and each had five 90 min massage sessions for a very reasonable price and of excellent quality.
Agapi quickly became one of the main reasons I keep choosing Plakias for my yearly vacations.
I share this since I want others to enjoy what Agapi has to offer and I want this girl have the success she deserves.

As of September 2012 Emily has left... There is another girl substiting for Emily, the name is Marianna. Rather nice, pleasant and easy-going. Told us she was "the new Emily" :-)
