The "real Donutman" passed away.
« on: September 20, 2016, 02:04:47 PM »
I just read a comment on facebook by the daughter of Eleftherios Spanakakis that her father died last night.
I will never forget his voice coming closer and closer over the beach: "Extraaa Vitamina!"
Rest in peace or have a good live in heaven!

He will be missed. So many of the years listening to the phrases!

If you don't like, I'll take it back and feed the fish with!

:( very sad news, he was such a character, fond memories of hearing him on the beach over the years.

Saddened to hear the news.  We had been missing his cheeky comments ever since he had to stop a few years ago.  Rest in peace.

Very sad indeed - what an amazing character !
We were lucky enough to see him in July this year.

Hi mandmshow,

Just so you don't get a shock if you go back next year, and are served doughnuts by the same person as this year, the "real" doughnut man became too ill to continue a few years ago and had to give up.  The current doughnut man you would have met this summer is a relative, I believe, and I assume is still alive and well.

Came across a picture of Eleftherios, taken back in 2009. So sad he has passed away, happy memories
