Highway code
« on: July 09, 2007, 03:11:54 PM »
I have just been reading about the new highway code rules printed in the Crete Gazette.
Some very harsh fines for offenders including 350 Euro for no crash helmet! And even a fine for "hanky panky" in the car, not sure if it means when driving though! I did try to copy it in but it didn't want to!
Can you see everyone in Plakias wearing a crash hat?

                                                   Barny.
Fancy a Mythos?

I got the impression that Yannis Samatas was taking the 'P'.
It says driver enjoying... it doesn't mention a vehicle.

Do we have anything like that in ours, can't say I've read it for a while?

Do you need to be able to actually SEE the whlte lines to get fined?

Hello Barny,

Apart from tourists, no! Ditto seatbelts in cars. Would be as unlikely as finding a Greek non-smoking male. Good to see the new rules re. smoking in England seem to be being observed but I would be surprised if the Greeks follow suit.

It's probably already been introduced, it takes them around 10 years to take any notice. Good on them
