Title: The Beach
Post by: FionaCW on April 27, 2017, 01:02:05 PM
Some lucky people on the beach and in the water at Plakias today, looks beautiful.  Is there anyone there at the moment to update and have us all salivating waiting for our holidays?  Anyone going out there soon for a Plakias fix?  We're back in September and right now it seems a long way off but counting down the days already !!

Happy holidays everyone! I have to wait until August, but the wait will be worth it.

We shall be staying in Paleochora 3rd to 10th June. Went for the day last year and liked it.
Then in Plakias until the 24th June

Ten days in Paleochora from 1st July, then the fabulous ferry trip to Skafia and on to 10 days in Plakias. Always stay in both because I can't decide which I like the best.

Got back on the 30th April been going the last 26years sometimes twice a year never for Easter I must say that it was one of our best visits so far. Truly amazed at the greenness of the place and totally gobsmacked with all the flowers . To anyone who has never been to the area in mid April I can surely recommend that you give it a try. Far end of the beech a few chairs and umbrellas nobody bothered about them so free the whole time of our stay.
Some tavernas  not open but getting ready for the holiday season but still plenty to choose from. We had one shower whilst there not much though then it got warmer and warmer until we sadly had to leave. Hey Ho back in October cannot wait though I am sure everything will look different.

Hi,
We were there March until early April, touring the island but had 5 nights in Plakias.
We've been before this time of year and agree with you that it's beautiful.
Back for three weeks May 17th..often there in October too

Me again, rattling on about the beach....however, given that it's 29 degrees out there at the moment (lucky Mr T heading out there on Wednesday) is that sunbeds towards the far end?  As it's pouring down here in Glasgow I am keeping up spirits with counting down the days - 109 to go !!

Pouring here in Plymouth too so shots of the beach and temperatures of 33 degrees over the weekend were welcomed ! Lots to look forward to. Will be out there in September too.

Gulp - hoping that's not a banana boat moored just off the beach this morning ....

Didn't see the moment that was mentioned, but guessing it was one of the Preveli day trip boats.
Off to Lesvos in 2 weeks, Plakias in October, maybe Kalamata inbetween!!!!

The yellow boat is a rib owned by the people that own the forum shop, it was moored just a few meters off the beach opposite the forum for a couple of days but now has been moved to the harbour.
So no need to panic that water sports have spoilt the beach :)
