The weather station on top of Medousa (seems to have started working again today) shows in its archives the maximum daily temperatures this March so far to range between  16.9 to 20.6 which is probably not exceptional.

On a brighter note, Olympic have now brought the booking window for Gatwick Germania flights, and also the dates for my preferred accommodation, forward to May 10th.

That is certainly good news for you after your long campaign. Unfortunately that is the day we leave so we won't see you as we did on our last Greek Esster visit.

Jet2 from east midlands, August, £560 !!!!

Yes for Sept 2016 I had to abandon jet2 flights from my local Newcastle airport and chose Ryanair from Leeds Bradford. The Jet2 flights were way off the scale and more expensive than Atlantic flights.

I might be wrong but I don't think that Crete was included in the reduced VAT concessions which are about to be phased out. If I am correct then this increase of island VAT will not impact on Crete.

We will be at Stella's during your 3 day stay. Go up the road where the Doctors surgery is. Turn left at top of that road. Then first right and it is on your left after about 20metres. Geographically it is behind Livikon.

It is only a short drive from Sfakia. I would guess about 40 minutes. Don't worry about driving over the bridge. Rattle but perfectly ok.

I think my early warning re taking plenty of currency might be wise though a last minute "solution" to the current crisis might now happen. There will be ongoing similar crisis's I suspect but effect on holidays should be minimal if any.

We are there from 22 Sept for 14 days and yesterday booked flight for 26 April 2016 for 14 days which will include the Greek Easter.
